Chef's Ledger respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how that information is used, how data is stored, and what choices you have.
1. Information you provide
Chef's Ledger stores information you choose to enter into the app, such as inventory data, shopping list data, expense and usage data, group and shared inventory data, optional profile data, notification preferences, and receipt data.
2. Optional device permissions
If you use store search or time-zone related features, the app may use location services. If you use receipt scanning, the app may use camera access. If you enable alerts, the app may use notifications. You can disable these permissions in iOS Settings.
3. Third-party services
Chef's Ledger uses Apple iCloud and CloudKit for optional sync. If you use location-based features, the app may use Google Maps Time Zone API or Google Places API to support those features.
4. What Chef's Ledger does not collect for tracking
Chef's Ledger does not collect analytics data, advertising identifiers, browsing history, biometric data, crash reports, or similar tracking data for marketing purposes. The app does not track you across other apps or websites.
5. How your information is used
Your information is used only to provide app functionality, including managing inventory, tracking expiration dates and stock levels, creating shopping lists, recording expenses and usage, scanning receipts, sending reminders you enable, supporting shared data, and syncing through iCloud if you choose that feature.
6. Data storage
Your data is stored primarily on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, your data may also be stored in your personal iCloud account. Based on your privacy notes, Chef's Ledger does not operate backend servers for general app data storage.
7. Data sharing
Chef's Ledger does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only in limited cases, such as optional iCloud sync, optional location-based lookups, or when required by law.
8. Data retention and control
Your data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app. If you use iCloud sync, synced data may remain in iCloud until you delete it there. You can edit, export, or delete your data and can disable optional permissions at any time.
9. Children's privacy
Chef's Ledger is not intended for children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Security
Chef's Ledger relies on iOS security features, app sandboxing, local storage protections, and Apple protections for iCloud sync. No storage or transmission method is fully secure, but the app is designed to minimize exposure by keeping core data on your device or in your own iCloud account.
11. Changes to this policy
Chef's Ledger may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When that happens, the updated date at the top of the policy will change.
